Finished bobbin 4! (yes I’m afraid it does look rather similar to bobbin 3)
and managed to photograph it before I went out for my Bollywood dance class. The class is marvelous fun, I am very much an unco-ordinated beginner ( this was my third class) but our teacher is very enthusiastic and welcoming and the music is very addictive. It is certainly quite energetic though, and I am feeling my lack of fitness. I thought I was doing slightly better this week as I managed to get through the warm up without feeling like I was going to die. This all changed when it came to recapping the dance we learnt a couple of weeks ago, by the time we got to the end I was doing a very convincing impression of a sweaty beetroot! I am hoping I will get a bit better at it all soon, but it is good fun anyway, and is a dance style where manic grin is an appropriate facial expression which is always a good thing 🙂
The spinning looks good, but the dancing sounds fantastic.
I know that sweaty beetroot look, that’s me as soon as the weather gets hot.
The dancing is great fun! Luckily the room it is in is airconditioned! I did a bit better at the class this week, but I think that was really because she had made this week’s dance a little easier 🙂
You should see me after a Morris dance. Thankfully sides take it in turn to dance so there is time for a breather before more effort is required!
Morris dancing sounds great fun, I would love to try it some time. I am hoping to go back to Scottish Country Dancing next term too if the class times work out. At least with the Scottish dancing you usally get a quick rest while the other couples are dancing, with the Bollywood the only rest we get is when she demonstrates the next phrase.
” … a dance style where manic grin is an appropriate facial expression which is always a good thing…”
I’ve actually just cackled at work reading that sentence. Hi Heather, I’m new to your blog, researching spinning, have never done it before, but got a huge bug bite about it recently…obsessively reading the Tour de Fleece blogs and looking at a more than enviable array of yarns. Good luck with the race, and keep grinning.
Hello Nilda! Welcome to the mad house 🙂 Good luck with the spinning, you should definitely try it, it is great fun! You could start off with a spindle which isn’t too much of an outlay to see if you like it or not. Also your local guild or group may well be able to lend you a wheel to have a try out on. I should warn you it is horribly addictive, and soon you will find your house is full of fibre 🙂
