Wow! That was an exciting day’s racing! We didn’t quite feel the need to hang out of the window and shout for our rider to keep going in the way that the directeur sportif of FDJ did, but we were on the edge of our seats, and I think some of my spinning may be a bit wonky 🙂
Today I plied up the merino / seacell from yesterday. I love how this has come out, and hopefully it will make some nice socks, although I haven’t yet measured how many metres I have. It was lovely stuff to spin though I did have a couple of little lumps of seacell, and the plying has a couple of rather dodgy joins where the racing was a bit too exciting. Hopefully these wont be too noticeable in the finished knitting.
Today’s coin is a French 20 Cent to celebrate Thibaut Pinot’s win today.
Nice job spinning…beautiful yarn…wish i had that talent..saw the crashes today..ouch…….
Thank you 🙂 The crashes yesterday did look horrible didn’t they. I felt so sorry for Samuel Sanchez as it looks like he is not only out of the Tour de France but also probably wont be recovered by the Olympics either.
Loving the spinning and the coins!
I was yelling along with the FDJ guy this evening when I caught up with yesterday’s highlights (spent one Tour staying with a French family and it’s amazing how much cycling-related invective comes back each year…) Lovely to see a new guy winning, and Bradley still in the maillot jaune… My spinning’s nowhere near your level of skill or speed, but I’m really enjoying making yarn while watching the highlights…
Thank you 🙂 I love watching the Tour for the slice of French life and lovely scenery as well as because they are all incredible athletes. It has certainly been an exciting few days recently too! I agree it is wonderful when someone slightly unexpected wins and they look so thrilled.
Thank you for your very kind comments, I think I have a bit more time to spend spinning than you do 🙂 The thing I love about the Tour de Fleece is that it isn’t a competition and everyone can have a great time doing as much as they have time available for while enjoying the camaraderie.
